CASA Show Nr 48 - Durbanville, Western Cape (Region ZA-010)
27 November 2014
Our 48th show was once again in our "home town", Durbanville.
The triple-show event on the show day has now become well established as the norm. Three shows were held on one day, once again with the two independent shows running at the same time. This was again a separate event to the CASA WCF show and not a joint show, but it still affording the exhibitors, visitors and student judges the opportunity to attend three shows on one day. The results of the AICA show and SACATS show can be viewed on their websites.
Hills & Cats Best generously sponsored the prizes. The Hills Representative was present throughout the day and shared information with breeders and visitors alike.
We had a large number of visitors and the entrance fees, taken by our kind door lady, who volunteered on the day, helped in a big way to defray the ever increasing costs of the shows.
Judges came from Gauteng and the Western Cape provinces. Lee Smith passed her WCF International Semi-Longhair judges exam with flying colours, thanks to the Semi-Longhair exhibitors heeding the call to enter as many cats as possible.
The show was once again, typically for this time of the year, blessed with several litters entered. This is always a delight, especially to the visitors.
Thanks to Escom and load shedding, part of the show and Best in Show had to take place without electricity. Luckily there was good natural light from the windows, but the projector and computer could not be used. Unfortunately the flash photography is not ideal, as opposed to natural light photographs and we apologise for the many red - and green eye reflections on the pictures.
The show was a great success and the end of the show and year was celebrated by an informal get together dinner at the club's favourite restaurant - CASA!
